A’s breeze by Willmar

WILLMAR -The Marshall A’s used a strong offensive performance to pick up a road win, defeating Willmar 11-1 in eight innings on Friday night.

Marshall scored all 11 of their runs before Willmar got on the board in the board in the sixth inning with their lone run of the game.

The offensive production was balanced for the A’s, with three players racking up three hits a piece. Ben Korger went 3-for-4, scoring three runs and driving in another. Jordon Kontz and Austin Stubbs also went 3-for-4 each, both driving in three runs and scoring twice.

Travis McGlauflin went the complete game for the A’s on the mound. He allowed just one unearned run on five hits while striking out seven Willmar batters in the win.

The A’s return to action on Sunday as they travel to Bird Island to face the Bullfrogs. First pitch is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.

Dakota Freiborg was 2-for-3 with two RBI’s to lead the Milroy Irish to a 3-2 gopher league win Friday night.

Anthony Rohlik pitched held the Irish to just 4 hits over seven and two-thirds innings. Rohlik was relieved by Tyler Gilling.

Isaac Dolan pitched eight and one-third to get the win with Mason Schnaible with the two-out save. Milroy hosts Windom at 5 p.m. at the Irish Yard today.

Fairfax 7

FAIRFAX- The Milroy Yankees picked up a road win Friday night, defeating the Fairfax Cardinals 8-7.

Fairfax jumped out to a five-run lead in the first inning, but Milroy worked their way back, taking the lead for good in the seventh inning.

Brian Dolan and Matt Bauer led the Yankees from the plate, posting identical statlines: 1-for-4, double, two RBI.

Matt Bauer picked up the win in relief for the Yankees. He struck out five Fairfax batters in two and one-third innings, allowing just one hit.
