Library proud of its collection, service to community
To the editor:
Though your remarks about the library on Wednesday, June 25, are accurate and clear, I find I am offended that you think that without Plum Creek Library System and the MNLINK system, the Marshall-Lyon County Library would be a “beautifully wrapped present with no gift inside.”
We work very hard to make our collection…books, DVDs, CDs, magazines; our public internet access and computer databases; our teen and children’s materials; our programming for all ages; our services for the community like test proctoring, meeting rooms and art displays; and our staff, the very best they can be.
As a member of that staff, I am confident that we would have found a way, with our director and library board’s help, to keep serving our patrons even without the PCLS computer catalog and delivery system.
