Area students selected to University of Minnesota Twin Cities dean’s list

Area students have been named to the 2014 spring semester dean’s list at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.

To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must complete 12 or more letter-graded credits while attaining a 3.66 grade point average.

Area residents graduate from University of Minnesota, Morris

The following area residents graduated from the University of Minnesota, Morris:

Raquel Becker, of Lake Benton, received a bachelor of arts degree in elementary education. Mai Pa Tao Vang, of Walnut Grove, received a bachelor of arts degree in chemistry, with an emphasis in biochemistry and a minor in biology.

Area students named to dean’s list at the University of Minnesota, Morris

The following area students have been named to the University of Minnesota, Morris dean’s list for the spring 2014 semester. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must achieve a grade point average of 3.66 or higher while taking 12 or more credits, two-thirds of these credits on the A-F grading system.

Abigail Bangasser of Slayton, Jacob Opdahl of Minneota and Luis Reyes of Hanley Falls were among those named on the dean’s list.

Area students graduate from Alexandria Tech

Three area students received diplomas at Alexandria Technical and Community College’s graduation ceremony May 14 in Alexandria.

Isaac Anderson of Cottonwood received an associate in applied science degree in diesel mechanics; Andrew Swedzinski of Taunton received an associate in arts degree in liberal arts and sciences; and Matthew Van Moer of Marshall received a diploma in diesel mechanics.

Andersen named to Iowa Western’s spring honor roll

Iowa Western Community College, Council Bluffs, Iowa, officials announced that about 570 students have been named to the president’s honor roll during the 2014 spring term. Students named to the president’s honor roll must be carrying at least 12 academic credit hours and attain a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a scale of 4.0. Included on the list is Sarah Andersen of Marshall, general studies.

Speltz on Loras College spring 2014 dean’s list

Anna Speltz of Minneota has been included on Loras College, Dubuque, Iowa, dean’s list status for the 2014 spring semester. A student must earn a 3.5 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 credit hours to be recognized.

Evans among spring graduates at EKU

Eastern Kentucky University recognized 1,707 graduates at the conclusion of the spring 2014 semester, including Billie Jo Evans of Lynd.

Evans graduated with a bachelor of science degree in occupational safety and was recognized at commencement ceremonies May 10.
