Country cookout kicks off
MARSHALL – The 2014 Hendricks Summerfest starts Thursday with a country cookout at 11 a.m. The festival includes a parade, volleyball, a picnic and much more.
In addition, the Lincoln County Pioneer Museum will be open Friday through Sunday. Ducks are on sale for $5 a duck for the rubber duck race, but only 250 ducks are available.
Because of construction, the fun run will not be held at Mueller Drive as originally scheduled but at Veteran’s Memorial Park instead. Both the street dance and the teen dance will go on, rain or shine.
The Miss Hendricks contest, however, is canceled this year.
All events will be at or nearby Veteran’s Memorial Park. For registration information call the city office at 507-275-3192.
