Bot’s late single lifts Marshall Blue

PJ Bot singled and Ryan VanMoer drew a bases loaded walk to help lift Marshall Blue past Sacred Heart 7-5 Wednesday night. Thomas Fischer pitched seven innings in relief and struck out 11 batters en route to the victory.

Marshall Blue manager Chace Pollock saw his fastball working like it was supposed to.

“He was just overpowering people with his fastball,” Pollock said. “They weren’t really able to ever catch up to it.”

Matt Vankuelen led the team offensively with two RBI, while VanMoer, Bot and Mitch Pauling all had one RBI.

VanMoer and Vankuelen each had doubles in the game.

Marshall Blue will travel to Redwood Valley July 10 with the game set for 6 p.m.
