Orange drops game to Pipestone

PIPESTONE- The Marshall Orange team suffered a 13-3 loss at the hands of Pipestone Tuesday night.

Trey Nelson accounted for three of the team’s five hits and recorded a triple.

Zach Thompson drove in the only two RBI of the game for Marshall going, 1-for-3 with a double.

Clay Stevens also recorded a hit.

Justin Rots led Pipestone offensively with an inside-the-park home run as one of his two hits.

They also got doubles from Luke Krooger and Michael Freise.

Ryan Colgan got the start on the mound for Marshall, going three innins and walking one batter.

Joe Blanchard pitched the final two innings in relief and struck out one while walking two.

Brayden Baarpman picked up the win on the mound for Pipestone, going the full five innings and striking out three while walking four.

Marshall Orange will have plenty of time to rest.

They are scheduled to play Pipestone again July 7 at home with the game set for a 6 p.m. start.
