TYLER – Services for Henry “Hank” Martin Jacobsen, 89, of Tyler are at 2 p.m. Monday at Danebod Lutheran Church in Tyler. Memorial visitation is from 4-7 p.m. Sunday with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. at Hartquist Funeral Home, Utoft-Johansen Chapel in Tyler. Burial will be in Danebod Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Ridgeview Hospice in Tyler, Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Tyler, or Tyler Area Community Foundation. Arrangements are provided by Hartquist Funeral Home, Utoft-Johansen Chapel in Tyler.
He died Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Tyler.
He was born March 9, 1925, to Nils Aage and Andrea (Panum) Jacobsen in Tyler. He was drafted into the U.S. Army during World War II, attained the rank of 1st Sergeant, served in the infantry in the South Pacific, and was honorably discharged.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon of Tyler; children, Susan of Minneapolis, Greta Murray of Ghent and Barbara Risjord of Atlanta, Ga.; stepchildren, Laurie Putze of Mankato, Gregory Hinz of Humboldt, Iowa, Dawn Deutz of Marshall and Erin Jensen of Marshall; and 15 grandchildren.
