Tyler edges Marshall Blue

MARSHALL – Tyler defated Marshall Blue 6-5 Sunday night.

Jacob Fischer led the way offensively for Tyler, tallying two RBI while Levi Hurst and Ryan Fischer each had one.

Ryan Fischer finished the game with three singles in four at-bats and also scored two runs.

Hurst pitched the full seven innings for Tyler and struck out three while walking three.

Jacob Deines suffered the loss on the mound, pitching in relief of Justin Mettling.

Deines gave up three runs on eight hits and struck out two.

Mettling struck out four in his two innings of work.

Mitch Pauling, Thomas Fischer and Mason Penske also saw work on the mound.

Pauling and Matt Vankuelen each had an RBI and Pauling and Ryan VanMoer each had a double.

Jacob Buysse Pauling and VanMoer each had two hits.

Marshall also got hits from Nick Fosvick and PJ?Bot.

Marshall Manager Chace Pollock used six different pitchers as a way of getting some work in.

“We’ve already locked up the number one see for the playoffs.” Pollock said. “We just wanted to get guys some work. We had six free bases in the game and at least a few of those scored. We need to do a better job of attacking the strikezone next time out.
