Runck named to dean’s list
Sara Runck, daughter of Jon and Michelle Schmit of Marshall, was named with highest honors to the spring semester dean’s list at University of Northwestern-St. Paul. The dean’s list includes full-time students with a grade point average during the semester of 3.65 (out of 4.0) or higher. Runck is pursuing a degree in elementary education at Northwestern.
Highest honors are awarded to students with a GPA of 3.90-4.0.
McCoy honored for scholastic achievement at UW-Stevens Point
The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point honored more than 2,500 undergraduate students for attaining high grade point averages during the spring semester of the 2013-2014 academic year.
Full-time undergraduates who earned grade points of 3.90 to 4.0 (4.0 equals straight A) are given the highest honors designation. High honor citations go to those with grade point averages from 3.75 to 3.89 and honor recognition is accorded to those with grade point averages from 3.50 to 3.74.

Harmening honored at Buena Vista
Meghan Harmening, a junior business and accounting major from Marshall, was recently honored at Buena Vista University’s student recognition event.
Harmening was inducted into Alpha Chi, a national honor society recognizing scholarship in all disciplines, promoting academic achievement and encouraging its members to continue their lives as scholars. Membership is restricted to 10 percent of the senior class having a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher and 5 percent of the junior class having a cumulative grade point average of 3.65 or higher.
Pepper graduates from Bethel University
Shannon Pepper of Marshall graduated from Bethel University, St. Paul, following the spring 2014 semester. Pepper earned a bachelor of arts in elementary education K-6. She is the daughter of Laurie Pepper from Marshall.
