WESTBROOK – Services for Kenneth Arlyn Wahl, 86, of Westbrook, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Westbrook Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Burial will be in the Westbrook Cemetery. Military honors are by the Westbrook VFW and American Legion Post 152. Stephens Funeral Service – Westbrook Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
He died Sunday, July 20, 2014, at Sunset Cottage Hospice in Worthington.
He was born Dec. 28, 1927, to Samuel Henry Wahl and Emelia Augusta Wenzel, in Des Moines River Township in Murray County. On March 22, 1946, he joined the U.S. Navy and served active duty in World War II. He was honorably discharged on Jan. 27, 1948.
Survivors include his children: Vicky Ruppert of Eau Claire, Wis., Barbara Knusta of Eau Claire, Alan of Westbrook, Robert of Avoca, Jerry of Brookeville, Md., Ranae Sell of Currie, Randy of Chanhassen and Douglas of Farmington; 31 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren; brothers: DuWayne, Arlyn, Harley, Rodney; and sisters: Marlene, Marilyn and JoAnn.
