Marshall fifth graders take first

MINNEAPOLIS- Over 600 teams competed in regional playoffs in their state to earn a spot in the Great State tournament. The top two teams for 5th grade boys from Iowa, South Dakota, North Dakota, and Minnesota, were invited to play in the Pacesetter Great State Four-State tournament at the Target Center in Minneapolis on July 12, 2014.

On June 22, the Marshall 5th grade boys took second place at St Ben’s College. They lost to Minneapolis Fairview in the championship game 15-25. These top two teams from Minnesota earned their spots in the Great Four State Tournament as well as an opportunity to play at the Target Center.

The Marshall boys got revenge for the loss at St. Bens in June, by defeating rival Minneapolis Fairview 40-26, to win the Great Four-State championship.
