Marshall blanks St. Joseph’s

MARSHALL – Connor Winklelman of the Marshall Mudcats dominated St. Joseph both at bat and on the mound to help lead his team to a 5-0 victory on Wednesday night. Winkelman went 3-for-5 at the plate with one RBI. He also pitched complete game shutout while striking out seven St. Joseph batters.

The Mudcats overwhelmed St. Joseph pitching. They got fifteen hits, nine of which came in the third and fourth innings. The team also scored all of their runs in those innings.

Marshall’s Nate Hoeft went 3-for-5 at the plate with one RBI. Derek Rasmussen went 2-for-3 and drove in one run. Noah Winkelman went 2-for-4 and drove in one run as well.

Winkelman retired 12 of the final 15 St. Joseph hitters. He also did not give up a hit in the final four innings.
