Irish suffer loss to Luverne
PIPESTONE-Luverne used a strong pitching pefromance from Nate Harberts to beat the Irish in game one. Nate had seven strikeouts, only one walk and gave up three hits.
Luverne scored one run in the first and fifth off two critical errors by the Irish. Brian Bueing struck out the side in the ninth.
Daniel Frank was 1-for-3 with a double. Tyler Peterson and Mason Schnaible had the other lone hits. Milroy’s Cody Mather pitched a complete game striking out three and giving up only five hits.
Milroy will play Saturday at the Irish Yard in a elimination game. “We we 0-for-9 with runners in scoring position” commented Manager Bob Dolan. “You can beat good teams with errors and no clutch hitting” Hopefully it will turn around on Saturday.
