VFW goes 1-2 at MSF State

FARMINGTON- The Marshall Orange VFW team went 1-2 at the MSF 15U State Tournament this past weeken.

It’s season finished in the consolation bracket with a 4-2 loss to Farmington.

Ryan Colgan was the main offensiv threat, going 1-for-4 with a double and he also pitched six innings, striking out five batters and walking two.

Their second game of pool play was a 7-5 loss to Belle Plain.

Logan Tomasek finished 2-for-3 with a double and also went 4 1-3 innings on the mound, striking out three and walking three.

Zach Thompson finished 3-for-4 and pitched the final 2 2-3 innings.

He didn’t record a strikeout and walked two batters.

Marshall opened tournament play with a 12-11 win over Minnetonka.

Marshall carried a 12-0 lead into the final inning and were able to stave off a big comeback from Minnetonka.

Tomasek finished the game with two doubles, going 2-for-5 from the plate while Brock Boerboom wen 3-for-5, Kenny Morris went 2-for-3 and Brandon Labat went 1-for-2.
