Summer spotlight

The “Summer Spotlight” section runs weekly and features upcoming festivals going on around the area. Today: Lincoln County Fair.

Lincoln County Fair starts Thursday

TYLER – The Lincoln County Fair kicks off in Tyler on Thursday, starting with a horse show. Activities during the weekend include a carnival and free music, 4-H shows and much more.

Kid’s Day will take place on Saturday and will include many demonstrations and events for children to take part in. Some events entail the kiddie tractor pull, where trophies will be awarded to the first- and second-place winners, kid’s magic show with Tom Anderson, art tutorials, and a ranch rodeo that attendees are required to bring their own lawnchair to.

There will be a Prairie Ecology Bus on the fairgrounds on Sunday to inform children and adults about environmental and natural sciences. Michelle Weber will also be at the fair “Creating the Fair on Canvas.” Carnival wristbands are good for attending within one of the four-hour time periods.
