Home Federal Bank to open in new location

Home Federal Bank has announced it is planning to build a new branch in Marshall at 1418 East College Drive.

Home Federal currently resides inside Hy-Vee and has been there since August 2000. When the new branch is completed, Home Federal will be relocating to the new facility.

“We are excited to invest further in Marshall with this new facility,” said Stephen Bianchi, president and CEO of Home Federal Bank. “We have outgrown our current space inside Hy-Vee and need additional square footage to house bankers dedicated to our full array of banking services which includes personal banking, mortgage lending, business banking, ag banking and wealth management. This new location will allow us to better serve our customer base and position us well for future growth.”

The new branch will feature leading edge technology in the banking industry which will provide customers innovative ways to conduct banking business. It will also have a drive-up, which was missing from the current location.

A completion date for the new facility has not yet been established. It is anticipated the transition will take place sometime in spring/summer 2015.

Charter to Bring 200 HD channels, improved all-digital network and faster Internet Speeds

Charter Communications customers in the Willmar and surrounding area will have access to more than 200 high definition channels, better picture quality and significantly faster Internet speeds as Charter completes its move to a 100 percent all-digital network throughout 2014.

“By removing outdated analog signals, we regain bandwidth in our network enabling us to provide more HD channels and open the door to faster Internet speeds and future innovation,” said Charter President and CEO Tom Rutledge. “This upgrade speaks to the fact that Charter is providing our customers with the very best products at the very best value, and we’ve invested more than $2 billion in our fiber-rich network to make that happen.”

Once the all digital upgrade is complete for all customers, Charter plans to double its entry-level residential Internet speed from 30 Mbps to 60 Mbps at no cost.

The all-digital upgrade is scheduled for Sept. 3 and will impact the following communities: Willmar, Benson, Kerkhoven, Marshall, Montevideo, Spicer and Tracy. As part of this upgrade process, customers must take action by acquiring Charter-issued digital set-top boxes for each of their televisions.
