Awards Plus welcomes Bouwman

Awards Plus, a full-service company for awards, apparel services, promotional products, signs, and team solutions, based in Marshall, announces that Drew Bouwman has been appointed as its new outside sales representative. Bouwman will have responsibility for generating new business by promoting sales of all company services.

“His role will be critical to our growth strategy as we look to explore new opportunities, while also supporting our existing customer base,” said Brian Kor, owner. “We are very excited to have Drew join the Awards Plus family, and his addition is the perfect complement to our inside sales team.”

Bouwman is married to Christa and has two children, Keatyn, 2, and Colt, 11 months. He graduated from Southwest Minnesota State University with a degree in sports management, with a focus on sales marketing and promotion/services. He has lived in the Marshall area for 12 years.

Gores appointed to Southwest Minnesota Workforce Council

Dr. Connie Gores of Marshall was recently appointed by the Southwest Minnesota Chief Elected Officials Board to serve as an education representative on the Southwest Minnesota Workforce Council. Gores is the president of Southwest Minnesota State University.

The Workforce Council serves 14 counties in southwest Minnesota. The Council has oversight of the WorkForce Centers in Montevideo, Marshall and Worthington. The Council establishes and promotes workforce development policies that improve the social and economic life of the community. The Council takes a leadership role in forging strong and vital partnerships between business, education, economic development and the workforce development community. The members contribute specific expertise from key industries, articulating evolving industry needs, critical to aligning our workforce with the jobs of the future.

The Council has 26 members representing business, education, labor, public assistance agencies, economic development and WorkForce Center Partners from the 14 counties of southwest Minnesota.

Wiegert appointed to Southwest Minnesota Workforce Council

Melanie Wiegert has been appointed by the Southwest Minnesota Chief Elected Officials Board to serve as the Lyon County private sector representative on the Southwest Minnesota Workforce Council. Wiegert is the human resources manager at Schuneman Equipment Co. in Marshall.
