YME Tennis suffers two losses Wednesday


Yellow Medicine East took on Sauk Centre and Park Rapids in triangular Wednesday and were defeated in both matches.

Park Rapids defeated the Sting 5-2. Danielle Clarke fell in the No.1 singles match, losing 1-6, 3-6 to Lindsey Girtz.

Britanna Raddatz got a point on the board for YME, winning the No. 2 singles match 6-1, 6-1, over Sarena Kinkel.

YME picked up a win in the No.3 singles spot with a win from Sandy Bartels. Bartels defeated Natalie Kinkel 6-2, 2-6 (10-6).

Park Rapids would take the remaining singles matches and also sweep the doubles matches.

Tori Hilmanowski took out Sidney Knapper 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 4 singles spot.

Hope Johnson and Julia Smith started off the doubles action with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Jordan Trotter and Jordan Glad.

Mariena Dearstyne and Morgan Knott earned a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Mariah Norell and Steph Bartels and were followed by Drew Hilmanoski and Haley MacPherson defeating Nikki Musselman and Sophie Timm 6-4, 7-6, (7-2).

Sandy Bartels recorded the lone win for the Sting at the No. 3 singles spot, defeating Faith Henry 6-2, 6-3.

Morgan Kranz took the No. 1 singles match from Danielle Clarke 6-0, 6- while Hope Schwinghammer defeated Britanna Raddatz 7-5, 2-6 (10-5).

Sammie Walz won the No.4 singles match over Sidney Knapper 6-3, 6-1.

In the No.1 doubles match, Jessica Rodenbiker and Molly Weyer earned a 2-6, 7-6 (7-5) over Jordan Glad and Jordan Trotter.

Abby Welberg and Tami Middendorf won at No.2 doubles by the score of 6-2, 6-4 over Mariah Norell and Steph Bartels.

Dani Reiter and Amanda Petermeier won the No. 3 singles match over Nikki Musselman and Sophie Timm by the score of 6-3, 6-7 (7-3) 10-5.
