Prep Volleyball Roundup: Dawson-Boyd sweeps KMS, Windom earns win over RRC

KERKHOVEN – The Dawson-Boyd volleyball team picked up a road sweep Tuesday night over Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg (25-14, 25-11, 25-13).

Justine Lee led the Blackjacks with 12 kills in the match. She also added three aces on a perfect 19-for-19 night serving.

Andrea Lee finished with 20 set assists on the night, while Kelly Husby blocked four shots and added five kills.

Dawson-Boyd returns to action Thursday when they host Minneota.

Lamberton-Red Rock Central suffered a 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-23) loss to Windom Tuesday night. Mikaela Smith was a bright spot for the Falcons as she picked up career set assist number 1000 while going 9-for-9 with an ace.

Ramsey Piotter finished with two aces while Rachel Kedl also had an assist.

Kedl also tallied 11 kills to go with one solo block and one block assist while Piotter had 10 kills and Erika Rogotzski had three. Olivia Bittner had 17 digs to go with 12 from Price and four from Piotter.

Paynesville 3

PAYNESVILLE – Makayla Dyrdahl led Yellow Medicine East with 11 kills, but it wasn’t enough as they were swept 0-3 (24-26, 21-25, 21-25) by Paynesville Area on Tuesday night.

Dyrdahl also had four set assists in the loss.

Jordan Hinz finished the match with two aces and seven kills for YME.

The Sting return to action on Thursday night when they host BOLD.

Minneota – Emily Stienessen had eight serving aces to go with 16 kills from Taylor Reiss to lead the Vikings to a 3-0 (25-10, 25-17, 25-12) win over Lac Qui Parle Valley Tuesday.

Krista Maeyart contributed eight kills while Susie Hennen chipped in six.

Amber Engles finished with 11 digs to go with seven from Peyton Boerboom and six from Reiss.

Charlie Josephson finished with 36 set assists while Reiss had four serving aces and Johnson had three.

Minneota matches up with Dawson-Boyd in a battle of undefeated teams Thursday night at 7:30 p.m.
