MARSHALL – Services for James “Jimmy T” Dean Thompson, 46, of East Grand Forks, formerly of Marshall, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Burial will be in the Canby City Cemetery. The Hamilton Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
He died after a courageous battle with cancer Monday, Sept. 1, 2014, at the Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, N.D.
James “Jimmy T” Dean was born Nov. 29, 1967, in Marshall to Elroy and Joyce (Larson) Thompson. Jim most recently worked for Dynamic Drywall and Painting in East Grand Forks. His enjoyments in life included fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family. His passion was working on his farmhouse and hanging out with his dogs, Champ, Ozzie and Rocky. Jim was known for his quick wit and contagious laugh.
Jim will be dearly missed by his mother, Joyce Thompson of East Grand Forks; sisters, Dawn Thompson and Jodi Thompson both of East Grand Forks; nieces, Ashley Thompson, Kayla Thompson, and Brittney Thompson; aunts, Judy (and Vic) Mears of Marshall, Jeannie Haas of Marshall, Jean Paul of Marshall; uncle, Leroy (and Karen) Thompson of Canby; Jim’s special friend, Christy of East Grand Forks; many cousins; and other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elroy Thompson and his grandparents.
